Energy Assistance
The Energy Assistance
Program (EAP) provides heating assistance to low income
families in the seven county Oconee Area. This program
offers assistance with natural gas, electricity, and wood
whichever is the primary source of heating. Clients are
selected based on the total family income. The EAP is
offered only once each year. To receive services, the EAP
client must contact Overview to set up an appointment.
Overview, Inc. administers the Emergency Energy Assistance
Program also.

Commodities
U.S.D.A. commodities are
distributed to eligible household in the Oconee area twice
each program year. Commodities are distributed based on the
amount of surplus food received. Clients are selected on a
first-come, first-served basis.

Health and Safety
Training
Provide Health and Safety
Training for unregulated childcare vendors in the seven
county Oconee Area. A certificate of completion will be
issued to each vendor successfully completing the 8-hour
Health and Safety Training requirements.
TANF Resettlement
TANF Resettlement is a
service provided to TANF clients coming to an end of their
48 month eligibility. It is intended to give the client a
two-month period to find a job and become self-sufficient.
Weatherization
The low-income
Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is funded through
the Governor’s Office of Energy Resources. It is the intent
of the program to assist in achieving a healthy environment
in dwellings of low-income persons, particularly elderly and
handicapped, in order to aid those persons lease able to
afford energy cost and to conserve energy.

Foster
Grandparents/Senior Companion Programs
The Foster Grandparent
and Senior Companion programs are designed to provide
part-time opportunities for persons age 60 and over. The
Foster Grandparent Program offers services to children with
special needs and the Senior Companion Program offers
services to adults with special needs. These programs
provide older adults with stipends which helps to defray the
cost of their participation.
Aging
Home delivered and
congregate meals are provided to CSBG* eligible elderly
citizens. One meal per day per client. CSBG*

Minor Home Repair
Provide minor interior
and exterior repair to improve safety, accessibility and
livability of CSBG eligible families. Repair such as roof,
hand rails, wheelchair ramps, steps and rotted columns.

Food Pantry
The COMMUNITY FOOD
and NUTRITION (CF&N) PROGRAM provides basic seed funds to
address food and nutrition needs of low-income households in
our service delivery area by stimulating local match funds
and coordinating with other local private and public food
assistance resources. This grant has allowed Overview to
maintain a food pantry year round.
Applicants must be at or below 125% of the poverty level.

*Community Services Block
Grant
The (CSBG) program assists eligible low-income families by
supplying a wide range of anti-poverty services and
activities administered by local eligible entities. Services
are offered in such areas as employability preparation,
transportation, issues affecting children and the elderly,
housing, alcohol and drug abuse, emergency assistance,
homelessness and homeless prevention. Funds are contracted
primarily to Community Action Agencies (CAAs) to implement
these services and programs.
